Dinner at a restaurant Mace by Martin Svatek a member of the National Team of the Association of Chefs and Pastry Chefs of the Czech Republic. His cuisine focuses on Czech gastronomy in a modern way and lightened concept. Regional and fresh ingredients are always used.

Thursday 12th May 2022

Welcome in the assembly hall of the school, presentations of the students, tasting – typical czech desserts

Guided tour through the school building and botanical garden

Lunch at restaurant Beseda – tasting of dumplings

Guided tour though the city centre – vising of Čadil butchery, Museum of chocolate. An exit game was prepared at the end of the tour.

To illustrate the medieval history and tradition of the town of Tábor an entertaining programme with a medieval feast at the House Mill was prepared. Here students competed in various medieval disciplines such as axe throwing, and the cultural program was followed by a medieval feast. For fans of traditional cuisine, we had luxurious pork knuckles, bone-in ham, and other delicacies.

Visiting the spa town Třeboň. Close to the dam of the Svět pond in Třeboň are the Třeboň fishponds, where carp are mainly bred, another one of the purest South Bohemian foodstuffs. Rybářství Třeboň a.s. is the largest producer of freshwater fish in the Czech Republic and Europe (its share in the total fish production in the Czech Republic is about 15%). The company manages 8086 ha of ponds (488 ponds), of which it owns 1343 ha. The annual fish production is approximately 3 200 t, of which 90 % is carp and 10 % minor fish species (tench, zander, pike, grass carp, grass carp, whitefish and perch). More than a third of the carp production consists of grass carp.

After the lunch we visited one of the largest breweries in the South  Bohemian Region – the Regent Brewery.

After returning from the trip to Třeboň, the students worked on the evaluation of the project in the  Secondary School of Agriculture in Tábor and the last evening was spent with playing  bowling and tasting of typical dishes as potato salad, schnitzel etc.
